Singapore throughput rises

The Port of Singapore Authority says container throughput increased to 1.04 million teu in April from 1.02 million teu in March.

It said in its latest monthly report total cargo tonnage moving through Singapore in April rose to 26.5 million tonnes, compared with 26.45 million in March.

In April, 9,633 vessels called at the port, down from 9,971 in March.

Bunker fuel sales for the 380-centistoke grade fell to 819,900 tonnes from 872,700 tonnes in March. But sales for the 180-centistoke grade rose to 384,500 tonnes from 380,600 tonnes.
