Rock star to sing at rally

Rock singer Danny Summer will perform at a rally organised by the Democratic Party to mark one year until the handover.

Summer has agreed to sing at the event, to be held in Chater Garden on June 30.

'China's attitude towards the Democratic Party is China's own business,' he said. 'But the fact is the Democratic Party has a lot of Hong Kong people's support and I'm a Hong Kong person.' Summer said he did not see anything wrong with him singing at the event.

'The theme of the rally is to support democracy and Hong Kong's reversion to Chinese rule, not calling for anyone to step down,' he said.

'We have been saying these kinds of things for years.'
