Construction contractor Wan Hin & Co is expected to be put back on the Government's public works tender list early next month after a seven-month suspension.

Wan Hin, the civil engineering arm of Tak Wing Investment (Holdings), was suspended at the end of last year because it failed to submit its audited accounts for the year to December 31, 1994.

More trouble followed on January 26 after a truck driver was killed when a footbridge being built by Wan Hin collapsed in Tseung Kwan O.

The company is under investigation by police and the Highways Department because of the collapse.

A Works Branch spokesman confirmed Wan Hin had submitted its latest financial statement, which was being considered by the branch's finance unit - which should decide the firm's fate within two weeks.

Before its suspension Wan Hin was a group C contractor on the Works Branch list for buildings, port works, roads, drainage, site formation and waterworks.
