Car ploughs into rescuers
TWO people died and five were injured in Tuen Mun early yesterday when a car ploughed into a group of people trying to rescue a taxi driver trapped after an earlier accident.
Five men were dragging 38-year-old Mr Poon Leung-dik from his taxi after it had plunged into a five-metre ditch along Castle Peak Road when another car ran off the road and crashed into them. Mr Poon and one of the rescuers, 32-year-old Mr Lam Ping-ping,were certified dead on arrival at Tuen Mun Hospital.
