The Government came under fire yesterday when Tsing Yi residents found a new amusement arcade with gambling games operating unchecked. The children's arcade, which opened two weeks ago in Cheung Fat Commercial Complex, offers games similar to roulette, electronic racing betting and slot machines. Vice-chairman of the Tsing Yi Action Group, Chan Wai-ming, said the regulation governing the tenancy for such an arcade was insufficient. 'We have to discuss with the Housing Department to see whether they will check the games offered by an arcade before renting a shop out.' Lau Pik-kin, president of the mutual assistance committee of On Yeung House at Cheung On Estate, said there was insufficient supervision against arcades of this kind. He said that since the arcade opened no officials had been to visit the site.
