Research move

WASHINGTON: A Senate committee approved safeguards for foetal tissue research to go along with President Mr Bill Clinton's lifting of a ban on such research. Under the safeguards, doctors could not ask women for permission to use a foetus for research until after the woman had decided to have an abortion.
