'Celebrity' couple to tie knot

It has been tipped as the celebrity wedding of the year. Broadcasting, Culture and Sport Secretary Brian Chau Tak-hay and Urban Councillor Ada Wong Ying-kay will tie the knot at the end of the month.

The couple, who are both divorced, have opted for a private wedding in San Francisco on July 26 before travelling through America on a two-week honeymoon.

Mr Chau, 53, will also attend the final days of the Olympic Games in Atlanta to support the territory's athletes.

'It was widely reported last year about our relationship and we tried to keep it quiet,' he said.

'We have not opted for a big open ceremony, just a private one for friends and family.' Ms Wong, 37, a solicitor, was voted into the Wan Chai East constituency in 1994.
