Convict Wong Kwai-fun wants to put forward fresh evidence in an attempt to have a jail term for criminal intimidation quashed, the High Court heard yesterday.

Wong, 40, was jailed for six months in January for threatening a prison officer.

The sentence was added to a 10-year term he was already serving for counselling and procuring grievous bodily harm and attempting to pervert the course of justice.

Mr Justice Thomas Gall adjourned the appeal so Wong's lawyers could prepare an application for new evidence to be admitted.

Wong was said to have threatened a prison officer by making reference to a film director who had been attacked.

John McLanachan, for Wong, said newspapers later reported that the film director, Wong Ching, claimed he was not assaulted. He produced an article which said the director suffered his injuries from falling over.
