The American Chamber of Commerce has bought 6,000 sq ft of office space in Bank of America Tower in Central for about $50 million. 'Our decision to buy property reveals our long-term commitment to Hong Kong's future,' chamber president Frank Martin said. 'We strongly believe that Hong Kong will remain a regional centre for international business and finance, and we want to be well-positioned to contribute to the territory's success in the years to come.' He said the chamber had been considering a property purchase for several years. 'We seized this opportunity because we had adequate savings and the market was favourable,' he said. The agreement was signed on Tuesday.
