Cityplaza at Taikoo Shing has some small booths for the purpose of displaying and selling merchandise. I own a small retail business and would like to use the venue for my product.

On June 6, I met an official from Swire Management Ltd, a Mr Kwok. The nature of the product was explained and I gave him a copy of my catalogue. Six days later I was informed that my product was not suitable for the booths, because it was a food product. I do respect that the company has a right to decide what kind of product goes on line, but it mistook a hobby kit for a food product.

I then spoke to another member of the management team, Frankie Cheng. He admitted that a mistake had been made and said that my product would be reconsidered. I sent further details about my product, but Mr Cheng would not let me know when a decision would be made. I made two further phone calls to find out what was going to happen. Then Mr Cheng said the product was not suitable, but he would not give me a reason for this refusal. I asked him to call me back after consulting his superiors, but he never did.

Surely I was entitled to be told why my product had been rejected. Is this the sort of customer practice of this company? I write this letter, not because I want to vent my frustration, but in the hope that it will facilitate some constructive moves on the part of the management company, because Cityplaza is a great shopping spot.
