A GERMAN tourist allegedly carrying 50 unembossed Mastercards when detained at Kai Tak Airport appeared at San Po Kong Court charged with possessing equipment for making a false instrument.

No plea was taken and magistrate Mr Fergal Sweeney remanded 33-year-old Michael D. Merdian in custody to allow time for the Crown to seek legal advice and to decide the trial venue.
