The Jazz Club D'Aguilar Street, Central. Tel: 2845-8477 The Christophe Lier Trio returns tonight at 9.30pm before the Joe Rosenberg Quartet hit the stage tomorrow night about the same time. The bar's open jam night at 9pm on Sunday is growing more popular.

Club 97 Lan Kwai Fong, Central. Tel: 2810-0616 Thursday at 8pm sees the long-awaited return of Mickey Smith's Cool Vibe Review. This time Smith has nabbed top Japanese group the Kyoto Jazz Massive with DJs Okino and Osawa and vocalist Monday Michuru. Smith will be playing with fellow locals BFD Skates Posse.

Winners Sports Bar Wyndham Street Central. Tel: 2801-6885 It's psychedelic funk from Brothers Keeper tonight while soul band Easy Does It plays tomorrow. Brothers Keeper are back again on Sunday and the bands start about 9.30pm.

The Wanch Jaffe Road, Wan Chai. Tel: 2861-1621 Top Aussie band Squid are in town for a few shows starting tomorrow night. The duo have a huge reputation in Australia for their psychedelic style and are supported by Lamma ladies the Sisters of Sharon, back in town after their successful US shows. The gig starts at 10pm. Tonight, Hooray Howard and the Henries play classic rock covers at 10pm. Sammy strums and sings folk-rock through the rest of the week at 9pm.

The Fringe Club Ice House Street, Central. Tel: 2521-7251 Murphy's Law play blues-rock tonight about 10pm while the Saturday Night Open Mike jam session continues tomorrow at 10pm. Aussie alternative outfit Squid hit the stage on Wednesday playing selections from their forthcoming album at 10pm.

Delaney's Wan Chai Luard Road, Wan Chai. Tel: 2804-2880 Tomorrow night Stunned Mullet throw away their axes and take up acoustics for top classic and original rock at 8pm while Larry Hammond plays blues on Tuesday about the same time.
