If I were devising a schedule for television on a Saturday night, I would ban children and cooks.
It strikes me that this is the time that marks the start of an adult's weekend viewing. We have eaten dinner, so food, apart from a packet of nachos or bar of chocolate, perhaps, couldn't be further from our minds.
The kids are in bed, or should be well on their way, so mum and dad can sit down and watch a show of their own with out them.

Clearly ATV World thinks differently.
What does it give us to look forward to after reading a bedtime story or doing the washing up? None other than Yan Can Cook (World, 8pm).

It is, perhaps, irrelevant that I don't think Yan can cook at all.
