Art scholarships for two

Two young artists will be able to study at an art school of their choice in France, thanks to two scholarships worth $60,000, offered by the Philippe Charriol Foundation.

The recipients will be the 'two most promising artists' to be chosen from the portfolios of 55 artists who entered for the foundation's annual modern art competition. Selections of the best paintings and sculptures will be made this month.

The winners will be announced at the foundation's annual auction ball, to be held at the Grand Hyatt on October 31.
