Swinging to hits of the past

You can truly swing with the golden oldies, the audience discovered as veteran singers went down memory lane in a recent charity concert at the Hong Kong Coliseum.

More than 40 singers brought back hits of another era and put a spin on them at the 'Hong Kong Memories Concert', organised by Radio Television Hong Kong.

The proceeds from the concert went to the Sincere Charitable Foundation to fund the 'Igniting Hope' project in Guangdong, and to the Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts for educational development.

Besides stirring golden memories, the concert also served as a tribute to singers from different generations.

Cheung Man-sun, the concert's executive director, said that songs are a 'memento of each era', reflecting people's social background and characteristics.
