With the countdown now inside one year, I am anxious to know what my status is in life.

I am presently holding a BDTC passport which clearly reads under the Nationality Column - British, British Dependent Territories Citizen, which should mean that I am firstly British and then a BDTC.

On June 30, 1997, I will be forced to get a BNO passport and will be classified as a BNO.

I would like to know the difference between being a 'citizen' and a 'national'.

Also I would like to know if I and several others belonging to a group which is neither Chinese nor Caucasian, have any rights.

Based on the rules of the United Nations, isn't it decreed under international law that no government can leave you to be stateless? If this is so, how come nobody cares for the minorities? Who can we turn to for justice? NAME AND ADDRESS SUPPLIED
