A 12-year-old girl suffered a 'truly appalling' rape ordeal after being lured away from her friends by a stranger posing as a policeman, a judge said yesterday.
Chan Chun-tat, 21, confiscated the girl's identity card and told her she had to go with him to a police station.
The frightened child was then led to a deserted car park where Chan 'gratified his lust', the High Court heard.

Deputy Judge Colin Jackson described the ploy as a cruel deception and said the rape was 'truly appalling'.
And he warned potential rapists not to forget that the maximum sentence was life imprisonment.

He jailed Chan for six years, after his guilty plea had saved the girl having to 're-live her dreadful ordeal' by giving evidence, the judge said.
