It was a big day for Koo Sergio Don.
Like many other students in Hong Kong, he was pleased to have passed his exams, but how many of his colleagues could say they had got five As at the Hong Kong Advanced-Level examination? He was the top Form Seven student at St Joseph's College, scoring top grades in Chemistry, Physics, Pure Mathematics, Use of English (Advanced Supplementary Level) and Chinese Language and Culture (AS-Level).
At the 1994 HKCEE he collected eight As in Chinese Language, English Language, Mathematics, Additional Mathematics, Religious Studies, Computer Studies, Chemistry, and Biology, as well as a B in Physics.
The 18-year-old scholarship student did not expect such stunning results.
'To prepare for my exams, I worked out a schedule to follow so I knew when I had to finish all my revision and what I needed to study at home,' he said.
He also managed to find time for his hobbies, swimming and playing piano, which helped him relax when he was not working. He swims for the Happy Valley Athletics Association, and he has also passed Grade Eight piano.
