A new company called Pigeon is offering a service that is at least unusual, if not unique.

Pigeon offers its customers a lifetime e-mail address (LEA). Borrowing the word pigeon from the idea of a carrier-pigeon, the company is offering a way to maintain a site where your e-mail will always be forwarded.

Many people these days get an e-mail address when they go to university, then get another when they begin to work and then acquire new ones as they change jobs.

Trying to keep your friends' databases up-to-date can be daunting.

Pigeon is hoping that its service will solve this problem.

The scheme is quite simple. After joining Pigeon, Johnny Wong gives out his e-mail address as jwong. This address, in turn, will always point to his real address which is jwong.

He then joins a company in Hong Kong called Big One and gets a new e-mail address jwong.
