The airport said the buoyant growth in air cargo volume was attributable mainly to the strong cargo traffic to the Middle East and Asia.

The Dutch airport's traffic growth was stronger than that of London, Paris or Frankfurt.

Schiphol has added four scheduled services in the first half of this year. From Schiphol, there are flights to 115 European destinations and 114 intercontinental destinations.

KLM Royal Dutch Airlines recently started a twice-weekly service between Amsterdam and Beijing.
