A survivor of the Pat Sin Leng hill-blaze showed his gratitude by presenting a painting of Chinese calligraphy to his rescuers.

Lee Chun-man, 13, a Form One student at Fung Yiu King Memorial Secondary School presented the artwork to Deputy District Commander of Tai Po, Yip Suen, and to Divisional Commander David Gunton.
Both officers investigated the hillside fire in which three children and two teachers died.
Chun-man, who does not remember the fire, let his father answer questions from the press.
But he agreed to talk to Young Post.

Chun-man, said that since the tragedy he valued his life more and was more conscientious about schoolwork.
