Successive trials took their toll
Wong Kwai-nam's wife said her husband decided to put an end to his long-running campaign against the Government because he was tormented by the number of trials.
Winessa Chow Suet-fong, 23, said she and her husband now felt more relaxed and were looking forward to being reunited one day.
'I could not say I am happy but at least I can count the days for his returning to me and our daughter,' she said.
Ms Chow, who married Wong, 30, at the end of 1994, gave birth to their first child, Sik-in, last December while her husband was in custody.
She said she hoped their baby girl could be hugged by her father soon.
Speaking outside court, Ms Chow criticised the legal department for charging her husband separately in three trials for similar offences.
