Anyone who has just looked down the television listings beside this space would have noted there was only one movie on our terrestrial English channels tonight - and it is not even today's highlight.
Instead, scheduled way past prime time is Rowan Atkinson - Live (World, 11.50pm). Why ATV could not show this programme at an earlier hour was probably because tonight is Macau Racing (World, 8.30pm).
Now we know where priorities lie in Hong Kong television.
Still, Rowan Atkinson is definitely worth waiting up for. Best known locally as the eccentric and hilarious Mr Bean, a comedy that hit the territory only in recent years, the British comedian has been around since the late 1970s and early 1980s when he appeared in comedies such as Not the Nine O'Clock News and Black Adder.
This one-hour television special features sketch work and routines compiled by the actor over the past 10 years, the bulk of which have not previously been seen on television.
Atkinson's stage partner is Angus Deayton of Have I Got News for You and the farcical KYTV, and the show is written by Richard Curtis (of Four Weddings and a Funeral) and Ben Elton.
This combination will no doubt have viewers in tears of laughter.
