SmarTone has appointed Ritchie Ma as senior marketing manager. He will be responsible for overseeing marketing, advertising, public relations and sales promotion. Mr Ma has more than 10 years' experience in marketing and advertising and has worked with advertising agencies which have handled accounts such as Procter & Gamble, British Airways and Philips. He also worked with Hongkong Telecom as manager of business market communications last year. Jeremy Ng has been named senior manager of market strategy and planning, responsible for market strategy formulation, tariff planning, product sourcing and pricing, management of value-added services and market research. Prior to joining SmarTone, he was brand manager of British-American Tobacco (HK) for six years. He also worked for Techno-factor (Development) as senior manager in the Trunk Radio Division, responsible for telecommunications projects in China. Mr Ng also has experience in the local paging industry.Gregg Li has joined Omega Consulting as group managing director and marketing adviser. He was previously with Coopers & Lybrand Management Consulting Services. Mr Li has more than 15 years' experience in management consulting and marketing, with stints as director of management services and director of service quality and marketing at American Express for East Asia and Citibank. Charles Foley has joined as executive director and organisational development adviser. He has more than 25 years' experience in building competency-based systems and training products for management trainers. He has been a management consultant and lecturer associated with KPMG, the Vocational Training Council, Hong Kong Polytechnic University and Price Waterhouse in Britain. Robert Tricker has been named special adviser. He will focus on enhancing corporate governance, competency, and business transformation in Asia.Hewlett-Packard (HP) has appointed Lee Ting, currently vice-president and managing director of Asia-Pacific, as managing director of geographic operations. Mr Ting will manage HP's overall geographic operations worldwide, which comprise three major organisations - Asia Pacific, Europe and the Americas. He joined the company in 1965 as a development engineer. Richard Warmington, director of corporate marketing and international services, will replace Mr Ting as managing director of the Asia Pacific region. Mr Warmington started at HP in 1967 as a product marketing manager in the medical electronics business. He served as president and general manager of HP Korea from 1988-1992 and has held his current position since then.
