Robber grabs child, 3

A man snatched a three-year-old girl after snatching a wallet containing about $800 from her grandmother in a Wong Tai Sin public housing block yesterday.

Chiu Ngan-ying, 63, was attacked in a lift at Lung Lok House, Wong Tai Sin Lower Estate at about 11 am. She was carrying her two granddaughters, Pang Lok-yin, five, and Wing-yin, three.

The robber snatched the wallet, an identity card and keys from the elderly woman and then pushed her against the wall before fleeing with Wing-yin.

Lok-yin ran out of the lift and banged on the door of a second-floor flat. The tenant called the police.

Wing-yin was found in the lift lobby when police arrived. Ms Chiu suffered head injuries and was treated at Queen Elizabeth Hospital.
