Hong Kong's paralympic athletes were hoping to build on the success enjoyed by their able-bodied colleagues as they boarded a flight to Atlanta yesterday. The 39-strong delegation, comprising 24 athletes, will take part in athletics, fencing, lawn bowls and table tennis in the Paralympic Games, which start on Thursday in the Olympic city. Hong Kong have won 43 medals - six of them gold - in the past six Paralympic Games, and inspired by Lee Lai-shan's windsurfing gold medal last month, are hoping to add to that record. Team manager Silas Chiang said: 'Our preparations for the Games is the best ever. 'Athletes and coaches are making use of every minute to tune up for the Games.'
