A Tsuen Wan-bound MTR train yesterday overshot Admiralty Station and took passengers straight to Tsim Sha Tsui. The driver failed to stop the train, with 300 passengers, on arrival from Central at 1.39 pm. He managed to halt it beyond the platform, but decided to go on rather than reverse. An MTR spokesman said the incident was owing to the malfunction of the automatic train operation system. The incident comes during inspections by British rail expert Alan Cooksey, called in by the Government to solve the spate of problems on the MTR.
