Twelve manufacturers participated in an electronics and gifts exhibition organised by the Hong Kong Trade Development Council in Jakarta last week. 'Indonesia's import regulations have been greatly liberalised in recent years,' said June Ngan, the TDC's trade promotions manager for Southeast Asia. 'Hong Kong consumer products, including electronics and gift-ware, have found a receptive market among Indonesia's 200 million people.' The electronics industry is Hong Kong's largest export earner. Jack Tsang, one of the exhibitors and director of J Combo Electronics, maker of products including heaters, fans, transformers, steam irons, hair dryers and radios in Guangzhou, said: 'We know our products are very suitable for the Indonesian market.'
