More than 2,290 students will learn this morning if they have won a Form Six place at the final stage of the admission procedure. Their chances are about one in 10 since there are only 261 vacancies left for the central allocation system. Among the successful students, 20 per cent will have to travel to Lantau, 20 students will be assigned to Cheung Chau and 13 to Shataukok near the border. The Education Department said places were allocated on the basis of exam results, choice of school, match of streams and subjects. Students can check their results at any of the eight registration centres or district education offices from 9 am today, and register with the allocated school before 1 pm.
