Microsoft is offering a localised Net package for users of Chinese Windows to coincide with the official launch of version 3 of its Internet Explorer Web browser, released just ahead of Netscape's Navigator 3.0. Microsoft is offering Internet Assistants for Chinese Word, Excel, Access and PowerPoint. The Assistants are free-of-charge add-ons for Chinese Office 95 and allow users to create documents, spreadsheets and databases in Chinese versions of Word, Excel and Access and then convert them into hyper-text markup-language (HTML) for use on the Web. Microsoft has convinced eight of the top local Internet Service Providers to become download sites for these Chinese Assistants.
