Former Hong Kong Customs officer Henfrey Tin Sau-kwong has hired the same Singapore lawyer who represented jailed rogue futures trader Nick Leeson. Top Lion City lawyer John Koh, who still has Leeson on his books, has been retained by Tin's instructing lawyer Andrew Lam as a 'liaison man', in preparation for Tin's trial on conspiracy to murder charges. The trial begins at the High Court next week. The former Customs officer is charged with conspiracy to murder Tommy Chui To-yan, 38, a key prosecution witness who was due to give evidence against him over an alleged $8.5 billion cigarette smuggling syndicate. Millionaire businessman Chui's gagged and bound body was found floating off Singapore's Clifford Pier on April 1 last year.
