Hopewell Holdings has confirmed plans to scrap listing plans for Consolidated Real Estate and Transport Asia (Creata). The announcement means plans to group Bangkok Elevated Road and Train Systems (Berts), the Guangzhou-Shenzhen-Zhuhai east and west superhighways and the Guangzhou ring road, under the same umbrella will not go ahead. Hopewell said it soon would announce other possible fund raising exercises to alleviate the group's massive debt and fund Thailand railway and mainland highway projects. Debt stood at $24 billion in June last year. Hopewell shares fell yesterday for the second day in the week, to $4.35 from $4.40.
