TWO partners in the design company Image Factor have set up a niche market magazine aimed at companies in the service industry who want to advertise to potential customers. Mr Shaun Bowers and Mr Harvey Symons will launch Business 2 Business in the middle of next month. Its 10,000 copies will be distributed free to a broad spectrum of offices in Hongkong, though it is envisaged primarily as a service industry advertising vehicle. ''Our emphasis is on providing somewhere for Hongkong companies to place classified advertising,'' said Mr Symons. ''There are classified titles around but they tend to go to specific sectors or income brackets. Business 2 Business will be like DollarSaver in a suit and tie,'' he said. The A4-format monthly magazine is running at about 16 pages for its first issue, of which the majority will be advertising space. Some editorial of interest to the business community at large, such as company profiles, the problems of running a business, how to find a niche in the market, plus regular currency information, will precede the advertising section. All design and layout has been co-ordinated in-house while printing is being carried out externally. Essentially a black and white publication with two-colour cover, the Business 2 Business set-up and advertising costs have been kept low to make it an affordable medium for potential advertisers. The smallest classified space, three by 10 centimetres, costs $400, while a full-page is $3,650. Mr Symons plans to double the magazine's frequency and to increase its pagination to 50 pages before the end of this year. ''We want it to grow to as big a capacity in Hongkong as suits it, as our long-term aim is to make it Asia-wide using the same format,'' he said.
