State-run Indian Oil Corp (IOC) has bought three very large crude carriers (VLCCs) of Nigerian Qua Iboe in its tender for next month, but no Dubai crude oil. Traders said the IOC also bought one VLCC of Suez Blend. The state-run firm bought two VLCC cargoes of Qua Iboe from a Western trader at dated Brent plus 83.95 US cents, and one VLCC of West African crude oil at dated Brent plus $1.05 from a major oil company. The IOC was said to have bought the Suez Blend at a premium of two cents to the official selling price. Three Dubai cargoes and two VLCCs of Bonny Light were offered to the IOC in the latest tender which closed on August 29, but none were bought, the traders said. The offers for the tender, which was for one million barrels of crude oil, had to be valid until last Friday.
