Weighing plays an integral part in business, and when massive amounts are involved, accuracy becomes even more crucial. As an industry heavyweight, Tamtron Group has more than 40 years of experience in pioneering the development of digital heavy weighing, mobile weighing and life-cycle servicing systems. The systems are crucial to industries such as mining, construction, railways, and pulp and paper.
"Every material has value, and the only reliable method for defining any amount of material is weighing," says Tomi Virtanen, CEO. "But weighing is only reliable when you have accurate equipment like ours to define the exact weight."
Tamtron makes such precision possible even under difficult circumstances such as measuring moving loads on railways. One of the latest innovations, Scalex Wild, can weigh train cars at speeds of up to 250km per hour and detect safety hazards such as flat wheels. Tamtron is also launching one of the world's most accurate excavator scales.
Such innovations stem from Tamtron's emphasis on technology leadership and continuing efforts in research and development. These efforts, coupled with the company's ability to stay in touch with its customers' needs, have driven Tamtron's overseas growth. The company exports its growing portfolio of patented, scalable weighing solutions to more than 50 countries including Sweden, Poland, the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Germany and China.
Tamtron has grown its presence in China since its entry in the 1990s to include 2,000 customers and a subsidiary in Wuzhou. The company looks to expand into other Asian markets, as it seeks established technology distributors with a sizeable network in nearby countries such as Thailand, Myanmar and Vietnam.
"We are clearly a growth company, and when we talk about state-of-the-art, dynamic weighing solutions, we want to be the preferred partner of the world's leading companies," Virtanen says.
