As a pioneering manufacturer of dental imaging units, SOREDEX has come a long way since introducing the first high-frequency dental X-ray unit with a DC generator to the market in 1977. For almost 40 years, SOREDEX has ceaselessly developed reliable, innovative and user-friendly imaging solutions for dental professionals worldwide.
Going beyond oral applications, SOREDEX showcases breakthroughs in digital-imaging technology through its 3D SCANORA cone beam computed tomography systems. SCANORA imaging tools provide clear, accurate and comprehensive images that tackle diagnostic challenges not just in the dental field, but also in the craniomaxillofacial region such as bony structures in the ear, nose and throat (ENT) area.
"Our SCANORA product line gives us the opportunity to access fresh applications and new partners we can integrate with to offer more clinical value for doctors and patients," says Tiina Holkko, commercial vice-president, global imaging sales.
Spearheading the development of imaging plate technology, SOREDEX introduced DIGORA Optime in 1994. DIGORA Optime produces 2D images using imaging plates instead of films.
Providing long-term cost savings and more ecological processes, these advanced dental and ENT imaging systems offer a more straightforward workflow and a faster image turnaround. "With the SCANORA and DIGORA technologies, doctors can, for example, easily identify the cause of oral inflammation, plan an implant operation or analyse sinuses, allowing them to quickly prescribe the proper treatment or procedure," Holkko says.
With research and development at its core, SOREDEX closely collaborates with imaging professionals and customers, and works with universities, dental schools and partner-dealers to develop more technologies as it solidifies its Asia-Pacific foothold. Aside from maintaining its operations in Japan and bolstering its 30-year relationship with markets in China, SOREDEX seeks to serve the wide dentistry networks in Malaysia, Thailand and Indonesia. It is also eyeing potential growth in the buoyant markets of Bangladesh, Myanmar and Vietnam, as dental practices there are transitioning from 2D to 3D systems.
