With a passion for better energy, inductive product solutions provider Trafotek focuses on improving the quality of electricity, promoting energy efficiency and applying renewable resources. The company produces reactors and electrical filters for industrial automation and renewable energy applications, and power transformers for marine and offshore industries.

Having generated thousands of product designs since 1983, Trafotek is known for its reliable and proven products, compact and lightweight designs, promptness in service, and genuine efforts towards the continuous development of global operations and new technology.

"Our technological expertise mainly comes from working with the best and largest manufacturers in the world. End-users are very demanding and require very high product performance," says Lassi Rajala, chief financial officer and director of administration. "We design products in close relationship with our customers and work with them throughout the research and development (R&D) phase to guarantee that our solutions meet their process demands and environmental requirements."

Dedicated to R&D, Trafotek has led the market for liquid-cooled products for more than 20 years. Its breakthrough technology has reduced the size and weight of transformers, making ship designs more efficient, while decreasing costs for shipyards and system integrators. As a result, more than 800 vessels have been equipped with Trafotek's compact transformers worldwide.

Staying close to its customers, Trafotek has followed the movement of the marine, offshore and energy markets in Asia. With 60 per cent of its power transformers being exported to Asia, Trafotek opened a sales office in Singapore last year and plans to establish other offices across the region. It continues to invest in R&D pursuits and is building a manufacturing facility in Brazil to support its plants in Finland and Estonia, and in Suzhou on the mainland.
