China's 12th five-year plan, which calls for infrastructure and industrial upgrades, presents opportunities for hi-tech tube and pipe fabrication machinery manufacturers such as T-Drill. Trailblazing since the 1970s, its patented T-Drill method - a way of branching tubes and pipes more quickly and cost-efficiently without expensive T-fittings - has become a worldwide success.

T-Drill manufactures portable and handheld devices for plumbers and mechanical contractors and machineries for heavy industries. Its quality systems are certified according to ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 standards. "You are assured of many years of service from our customisable, high-quality pipe and tube fabricating equipment," says Anne Hanka, managing director.

The company's machines are used in producing tubular components for heating, ventilation and air-conditioning (HVAC) and solar panel manufacturing. In automotive, T-Drill provides innovative and cost-effective solutions for fluid-carrying systems. In shipbuilding, T-Drill's collaring and flanging methods are globally recognised and accepted as industry standards. For stainless steel enterprises, T-Drill's clean-in-place systems are installed in food, dairy and pharmaceutical manufacturing. "Our machines minimise the need for welding. This improves the purity of the piping systems and the pipe's flow characteristics," says Timo Lehtonen, sales director.

Exporting 95 per cent of its products to more than 60 countries, T-Drill considers the United States and Europe as its main markets, and has been selling machinery in South Korea, Taiwan, Thailand, Singapore, Malaysia and on the mainland since the early 1980s. T-Drill exports machineries to its European customers in China, while its portable devices have become the preferred solution of mainland manufacturers especially in the HVAC sector.

Last year, T-Drill participated in the All China International Tube & Pipe Industry Trade Fair and showcased its TCC-50 MCS, a cost-effective solution for those needing chipless rotary cut-off with lower volume requirement.

T-Drill seeks further growth in China's booming automotive sector and in food, pharmaceutical and wastewater cleaning segments by improving the company's automated systems and creating machines that can produce thicker-walled materials and large-diameter solutions.
