As China moves towards infrastructure investments for sustainable economic growth, the award-winning Finnish company Visedo promises the latest in new energy vehicle technologies.
The pioneering electric drivetrain specialist emphasises fuel savings and reduced emissions in heavy mobile work machinery, buses and marine vessels, supporting the mainland's goal to improve energy efficiency in line with its 12th five-year plan.
"Unlike most competitors, we provide full systems for various vehicle types and power ranges - electric motors, electric motor drives, power converters and energy storage - with the biggest fuel and energy savings," says Dr Kimmo Rauma, Visedo's co-founder and CEO.
"Our hybrid designs usually go from 30 to 50 per cent savings on fuel, and on electric vehicle [EV] systems we can achieve the same performance with 30 to 40 per cent less battery capacity than competitive designs, which will really change the market today."
Founded in 2009 during the emergence of hybrid electric vehicles (HEVs) and EVs, Visedo offers a range of components on the market specifically targeted for heavy-duty HEV and EV drivetrains.
Its patented state-of-the-art technologies and catalogue of permanent magnet generators and motors, heavy-duty inverters and supercapacitor energy storage devices have earned it a wide range of international customers in just a few years.
"We have valuable development partnerships with our customers in the creation of new HEVs or EVs," Rauma says.
"We support them through our know-how and expertise to create hand-to-hand turnkey solutions together." Visedo maintains distributorships on the mainland and in Hong Kong, Taiwan and Malaysia.
With new energy initiatives and massive infrastructure growth taking hold in China and the rest of Asia-Pacific, it is seeking further joint ventures across the region.
"We need a local partner with an active interest in these market segments and who also has the right contacts," Rauma says.
"With co-operative sales and marketing, we can bring in the technologies that have made us the best on the market today."
