Federal Express Corp (FedEx) has ordered 11 more A300-600 freighter aircraft from Airbus Industrie for delivery between 1998 and 2000.

  Airbus managing director Jean Pierson said the order proved that Airbus was a major presence in the world of cargo aircraft.

  FedEx previously ordered 25 A300-600Fs in 1991. It operates 17 A300-600Fs and 27 A310s. The A300-600F's 222-inch diameter fuselage is the widest in its class, and can carry a combination of several types of containers.
