English ace Philip Robinson was due to telephone last night to find out a result from York racecourse that could see him return home for a Group One ride next month, writes Robin Parke. His 2,000 Guineas runner-up, Even Top, was due to run in a conditions race at the northern course and then go for the Champion Stakes at Newmarket on October 19. 'The plan is to run him at Newmarket and, unless he runs particularly badly at York, I don't think that will change. 'I am expected to ride him in the Champions and certainly hope to do so,' said the former dual Hong Kong champion jockey. Robinson, who is under retainer to David Hill this season, specifically requested that he would be permitted to return to England for top Group or Classic rides - subject to the Jockey Club's approval.
