A multi-million dollar gambling racket involving scores of foreign workers was uncovered last night. Police raided a flat in Bute Street, Mongkok, and arrested more than a dozen Thai male and female restaurant workers after a two-week investigation. Police said the organisers moved from flat to flat every two to three weeks and ran the racket 24 hours a day. Detectives said some workers had run up debts of more than $200,000 playing Thai poker. The head of the racket is thought to be a Hong Kong man with Thai connections.
