Domestic exports fell by 8.2 per cent in the first six months of the year while re-exports increased by 6.9 per cent over the same period, according to the Census and Statistics Department.

Total exports increased by 4.3 per cent while imports also nudged up 3.7 per cent.

The relatively sluggish figures have been blamed on a lacklustre economy and fallout from the Sino-Taiwanese dispute in March.
