Six estate agents - including Centaline Property, Midland Realty and Ricacorp Properties - have been pre-qualified to bid for the contract to handle the rental of 100 under-utilised government staff quarters.
Centaline, Midland and Ricacorp said they received a pre-qualification letter from the Government Property Agency (GPA) and would bid for the contract.
An GPA spokesman said that it would probably award leasing contracts to several agents.
A determining factor in awarding the contracts would be the size of the commission the agents proposed.
The spokesman said the first batch of government staff quarters available would be 100 units measuring between 1,614 square feet and 2,152 sq ft.
Apart from the leasing contract, three estate agents had been pre-qualified to bid for the management contract for the units when leased, the spokesman said.
