The first batch of flats on sale in the massive Discovery Park development in Tsuen Wan is set to be a hit for the market as more than 100,000 people have visited the show flats since last Friday.
Estate agents expect to see an enthusiastic buyer response when the first 98 units go on sale next week, and the developers will probably release additional units to meet demand.
The units, measuring 610 to 848 square feet, are being offered at an average price of $4,744 per sq ft.
Jointly developed by HKR International and New World Development, the project will provide 1,120 units in the first phase development. The whole development, with three phases, will comprise 3,360 units.
Estate agents said the selling prices of Discovery Bay units were about 15 per cent higher than what was being charged for older flats in the secondary market in Tsuen Wan.
Transacted prices of nearby properties Tsuen King Garden and Luk Yeung Sun Chuen were about $4,200 to $4,300 per sq ft, they said.
