Airline staff manning 'Lost and Found' offices at Kai Tak take their jobs seriously. Not content with merely finding what is lost, they have set about losing what is found. When a passenger left an expensive jacket aboard a plane, she telephoned the airline's lost and found office immediately. No problem, the staff said soothingly. Her Yves Saint Laurent masterpiece had been handed in and was safely stowed in their offices. It would be marked with her name and kept on hand until she could retrieve it. Two weeks later, her requests were met with a string of 'Sorry, not here'. The 30-odd staff had managed to lose the jacket. Let's hope they are not manning the 'Lost Children' centre.
