Proper humidification brings in significant benefits in many day-to-day life situations, from optimising production and storage processes to conserving material value and work performance. "This is the message that we mean to bring across more markets," says Condair CEO Oliver Zimmermann. "We are highlighting the productivity, sustainability and health benefits of humidification that translate to improved profitability, quality and personal well-being."

Headquartered in Switzerland, Condair has made a solid imprint in this niche segment of the heating, ventilation and air conditioning market by delivering a comprehensive range of innovative solutions and services developed in Europe, North America and China. In business since 1948, Condair has built world-leading expertise and global presence to become the partner of choice for customised and turnkey humidification and evaporative cooling systems.

Sold under the brands, Condair, Nortec, Defensor, Draabe, ML-System and JS JetSpray, Condair's products are used in data centres, food storage, hospitals, large offices, tobacco warehouses and other commercial and industrial applications. As important as the company's range of equipment are its service offerings that ensure customers receive continuous support after installation. Two recent notable projects are the humidification and evaporative cooling system installed at Facebook's data centre in Luleå, Sweden, and the construction of the world's largest evaporative cooling system in Medina, Saudi Arabia.

"We have a comprehensive product portfolio - a distinct advantage over our competitors who have to argue in favour of one or the other technology," Zimmermann says. "We work closely with our customers, looking at their specific needs and preferences to provide the best solution for their humidity control requirements."

In 2013, Condair transformed into one enterprise from an international group of companies and completed its privatisation and spin-off from Walter Meier early last year. Through wholly owned sales organisations and distribution partners, Condair exports its products to more than 50 countries, including China, Japan and South Korea.

"China is our second-largest growth driver," Zimmermann says. "We aim to become the market leader in the country, delivering energy- and hygiene-optimised humidification and evaporative cooling solutions."

Operating in China for 20 years with manufacturing and sales, Condair is strengthening its position on the mainland by venturing into the residential market and expanding its reach to the southern part of the country. It has also unveiled plans to set up its third research and development centre in Beijing to develop solutions for the local market. In Japan and South Korea, where it has had operations for several decades, Condair is seeking additional distribution partners and agents to bring its industry-leading products to more applications and markets.
