A blend of words that means "royal foundry", Fondarex lives up to its reputation as the king in vacuum technology.

Developing the world's very first vacuum system for the pressure die-casting industry in 1952, Fondarex has since consistently introduced cutting-edge vacuum systems for the die-casting and plastic injection-moulding industries. This has ensured that clients get the most cost-effective process control and evacuation systems that yield high productivity.

"Our patented pulse vacuum valve technology forces air and gases to evacuate the cavity in a very short time," says sales director Dominik Baumgartner. "This guarantees increased density in the structure of cast parts, improving the quality of the product and reducing scrap rate in production."

Fondarex dominates the industrial vacuum technology sector with more than 1,000 customers in 60 countries, comprising an 80 per cent market share. Its trademark products Vacupac and Highvac enjoy a large presence in the automotive, aerospace, medical and household fitting industries.

Continually striving to innovate, the Swiss company focuses research on improving the vacuum process and developing systems to suit customers' needs. Technical reports, analyses and evaluations developed in collaboration with 17 technology centres worldwide - among them The Ohio State University, University of Brunswick and Xiamen University - have contributed to Fondarex's ground-breaking developments.

With these innovations come the latest products to be introduced to the market this month. "Our new system incorporates quality control and measures humidity to immediately identify defects, reduce production errors and ensure more economical production for customers," says Konrad Baumgartner, president and CEO. He sees a huge potential in the Asian market, particularly in China, which is moving towards green technology.

Fondarex's branch in Wuxi and five agents across Asia ensure that the company is strategically positioned for regional expansion. "Our knowledge-sharing and ability to build quality relationships have proven key," Konrad Baumgartner says. "We are close to our customers, and that is very important."
