As China addresses rising air pollution, the race to bring cleaner air to the region goes into full swing. Acting on its mission as a world leader in energy-efficient, healthy and comfortable indoor climate solutions, Zehnder Group aims to expand its business in China substantially over the next decade.
"We are the market leader in our niche, having been in this business for more than 120 years," says Dominik Berchtold, CEO. "Our passion for delivering a comfortable and healthy indoor climate has enabled us to be profitable year on year. Our keys to success have always been focusing on the needs of our customers, developing and delivering great products and services."
A successful international group with an established market leadership in the radiator and ventilation business across Europe - and with activities in North America and China - Zehnder offers design radiators, ventilation systems, radiant heating and cooling panels, and air filtration systems. Custom-made and easy to install and use, Zehnder products are known for their highly functional and aesthetic value.
Investing annually in research and development and in partnerships with universities and research institutions, the company masters a number of innovative technologies. Its state-of-the-art heat recovery ventilation technology offers noise- and draft-free energy recovery of up to 95 per cent - making Zehnder the ideal energy-efficient indoor climate solutions provider for air-tight modern buildings. Its radiant ceiling panels offer energy savings of up to 40 per cent compared with traditional heating and cooling solutions.
Having been active in China with its own production and sales facilities since 1996, Zehnder is in a strategic position to address the residential construction sector's growing demand for air filtration and purification systems. As part of its commitment to the region, Zehnder acquired ventilation company Shanghai Nather Air Tech in 2010, and opened its 90,000-square-metre production facility outside of Beijing in October 2013. The facility is focused on serving the local Chinese market.
Zehnder also sees growth potential in further developing its air filtration segment in the future. Targeting logistics, food processing and production companies, the company has successfully developed a specific vacuum-cleaning technology capable of improving product quality, production processes and working conditions by eliminating fine dust particles.
