A mainland journalist involved in the islands campaign will be sent to southern China today.
Chen Zongshun, organiser of a signature campaign among Beijing journalists, was assigned a hastily arranged reporting trip this month to take the new Beijing-Kowloon Railway.
'My news organisation asked me to report stop by stop along the Beijing-Kowloon Railway route,' said Chen, an editor of the Workers' Daily.
'I'm not sure how long I will be away from Beijing.' Chen, who had planned to extend the signature campaign to other provinces, said he had no choice but to accept the assignment.
'I not only feel helpless about the move, I deeply regret it as well,' he said.
'I have to keep silent although I know I shouldn't.' Leading activist Tong Zeng was sent to Gansu province by the Civil Affairs Ministry on Sunday while his closest partner in the campaign Li Dingguo had been sent to the northern city of Harbin.
Feng Wanjun , a Heilongjiang activist with a long history of demanding reparations from Japan, said Mr Tong was in Lanzhou, capital of Gansu.
